Frequently Asked Questions:
What are your rates?
We charge a fixed monthly rate of R550 per subject per student.
School groups are charged at a fixed monthly rate of R350 per student.
A once-off Registration Fee is due with the first invoice.
How often are lessons held?
Lessons are once weekly, at a recurring time slot. 30 minutes per individual lesson / 45 minutes per group class.
What does my tuition and registration fee cover?
Your tuition covers more than just your allocated lesson time. Not only does it cover lessons but it also covers music that is purchased for you to use in class, Practice Materials such as helpful stencils, tests and worksheets. It also covers the cost of instrument/piano maintenance of both the available Upright Pianos and Grand Piano, concert expenses, online tools as well as your Student Portal profile. Any workbooks that we choose to work from are not covered by your tuition fee, however they are available to be purchased through The Music Studio if required for your convenience.
What age can my child start lessons?
Depending on which instrument is chosen, usually the youngest age to start is 3-4 years old.
Recitals?
Yes! We offer 2 recitals a year. Mid-year and End-of-year.
Can I watch the lessons?
For the students first lesson, we do not mind 1 parent/guest to sit in the lesson. However, we strongly discourage parents/guest from being in the music room while the student is learning. We have noticed students are less focused, have less respect for the teacher and feel a much larger pressure when having an audience. We encourage parents to drop off the students, wait in the car, or wait in the garden area instead.
